Hi All,

I have made a fixed deposit on Jan 21, 2020 for Canadian PR application. After reading lot of posts here in, I was informed that the fixed deposit should be 6 months old before submitting application. But my current FD will be only 4months by the time I submit my application(planning to submit after May 21st). Is it still accepted to submit this FD as POF assuming it will be over 6months old by the time they review it or is it really necessary to have 6months old FD?

otherwise I am planning to do a gift deed from my brother(I could not get the gift from my father or mother as they do not have a PAN card as per Indian banking rules). Now I am confused if getting a gift deed from my brother weights more than fixed deposit considering I am a full-time employee working in USA.

Pls advise which option is better to submit as a POF

What did you do? How did it go for you?
I have chosen the option to go with 4 months old FD as I submitted on May 22. I thought going for gift deed is risky as I have 4 years of USA work experience and showing paystubs for the same. Currently it is in process, medicals passed and received BIL. As these documents will be verified in the eligibility stage, I have to wait and see how that turns out

Hi Arjun, curious to know if CIC asked for source of funds or any such supporting's? It would be really helpful since I am sort of in the same situation.
