Guys, I have a couple of questions pertaining to Gift deed and cash inflow:
1) Can the gift be from a relative and not an immediate family member? My maternal uncle wrote me a cheque. If yes, does the deed have to have a cheque number? I might not be able to retrieve it since this was done almost 6 months ago. Also, the deed is yet to be drawn. So, Is this going to be an issue?
2) My FD was opened on 04/04/2017. By the time I land, I will have barely crossed the 6 months threshold. Is it still necessary for me to be prepared with the Gift deed and bank statements?
3) Also, there have been a few deposits over past 6 months in the form of cheques issued by my father. The highest is about 3000$ CAD. Do I need to get a gift deed from my father too? If yes, can one deed include all previous deposits? Again, in this cases, Deed is yet to be drawn.
4) Also, on the FD letter (not FD receipt or Bond) bank stated that it can be encashed through all bank channels and refused to explicitly mention internet banking as one of the options. Is this going to raise eyebrows? If yes, will screen-shots of my net banking account clearly showing the option to liquidate the FD along with a letter suffice?
