Hello, i'm planning to study in Canada for my Master degree, i read about the GIC for international students in order to support my student visa, but some say its available for Morocco and some say it's not, and if it is, is it compulsory for Moroccan students ? coz my parents thought they can just send me money each month for living expenses, if they are really supposed to pay 10.000CAD each year for me then they need to know ASAP
If anyone can answer, please do, this is kind of urgent, thank you

No problem. GIC can be done in 7-14 working days, and ICICI is our only option so far I think.

Which intake are you going for? Also Quebec or the other provinces?
Master degree in Medecine, Ottawa university, and my course is taught in both English and French, but mostly English

Cool. If you're going for January intake as there is little time left, you should schedule a medical appointment ASAP. I had to wait about a month before I had mine scheduled.

I'm actually planing to start next September(2020), about the medical appointment, do i schedule it with a doctor of my choice ? like any doctor would do ? or does the Canadian Embassy have anything to do with it ?

You've got a lot of time for your application then. You may choose to send a paper-based application if you want, which wouldn't require GIC or first year tuition being paid (depends on the university policies).

For medical examination it has to be done with an IRCC approved panel physician:

I see, ok, but what do you mean by it doesn't require a GIC ? like you make the investment in ICICI but no certificate ? or like not at all ? i really gotta read about this

Guys, can No -SDS also use GIC?
Yes, you may use GIC to support your non-SDS application, as long as you are from the previously mentioned countries, since the banks providing this service restrict it to those countries.
You can get a GIC done, pay the first year's tuition and may still show other financial documents as proof of funds.
