Hi,

I am filling out the GIC application form. in the form it asks for the bank information. now i will be transferring the funds from my dad's account so i guesss i shud put his name in it. is it?

and secondly it also asks for Swift code and IFS code? wat to be filled there. kindly reply

Do u got your GIC account number and if yes than u have to transfer funds for GIC from your own bank account within India.

You have to write account holders name...i.e. Your dad's name

for 2nd one you can use either of 2 codes( swift or ifsc) both are valid...

As far as i know both the ques are related to gic refunding. ..Is it??

Becoz in account opening ..they give you the account no. In soctiabank ...

Hope you have correct form....check the form. ..Is the top most line GIC refund form???? Then please correct the form


Else for filling account opening gic form you just give your basic details , passport no., admitted college etc on form than send essential documents as one pdf ...after about 10 days they will send secure mail and password giving details about you account to which you will send money...
Hope you are on right track...

You can enter any of them (IFSC or Swift Code). You can find IFSC of banks here.
