Instructions for sending a wire transfer for the Scotiabank Student GIC Program:

Before you begin, please review the following notes:
-Any fees associated with sending the wire transfer must be paid by you, and Scotiabank must receive a minimum of $10,200 CAD.
-The wire transfer must originate from your bank account in your name.
-Incoming wire transfers will be rejected with funds being returned (less our charges) in the following scenarios:


i. Scotiabank receives less than $10,200 CAD;
ii. A wire transfer is sent from a source that is not a bank where you hold an account (e.g. money transfer services, forex services, etc.);
iii. Payment is received from a third party (e.g. parents, relatives, friend, etc.);
iv. Wire transfer is sent from a bank outside India.

Hi Dear

You can use the joint account provided you are the 1st account holder and your name should come in the bank balance certificates and all the bank statements. if you are the 2nd joint holder then it is possible that your name will not reflect in the statements.

Pls. confirm this from your bank. If only your name is appearing then you can use that account for GIC.

hello friends...
i have wire transferred the amount from my fathers bank account.so it may get rejected.
if the deposit gets rejected then the amount will be returning right??
my question is how many days it takes to return the money from the scotia bank??
plzz reply its urjent .

Well, i will suggest that you should call the scotia bank customer care to confirm the same.
