GIC Account Name is Wrong. Plz help me !!!

My First name is Nirmal Kumar . I dont have Last name. My surname is Prakash Babu.

GIC Account name has been created as Nirmal Babu .

Will it be problem while submitting the GIC for VISA.(name mismatch) .

or shall i mail scotia bank to change the name.

Plz help me..

Last Name= Surname

In Canada, its very rare to have a last name (surname) with a space. a dash '-' is usually used. So your first name is considered to be Nirmal and Last name= Babu, everything in between is your middle name (which can then be split into second and third name).

Its confusing but thats how north american names are written and how their systems are designed to handle them. Indian naming conventions are strange here. for e.g. You have to have a last name/ surname in North american for anything but India can give you a passport without a surname/ last name. strange!

If you wanted your entire last name, you should have written it as Prakash-Babu

I mean will VISA be affected bcoz of this .

Hello i am from India, My Surname is ‘Sayed’ and Given Name is ‘ Faraz Nadeem ‘ in my passport making it ‘Faraz Nadeem Sayed’. However, my Bank account, name sequence is Sayed Faraz Nadeem. I want to transfer funds for GIC from my bank in India. Will it cause rejection or it won’t be an issue. Plz help me out.
