You are a bit wrong here: Family Day is not an official national holiday. Only a handful of provinces mark the day. So, the federal government (of which IRCC is part) was working on Monday.

This seems like complete incompetence from IRCC. If the date means nothing at all from our perspective, then why show it at all? Why not show us a date that actually DOES mean something?

Not that I expect any level of competency from a government agency, but this just seems downright foolish.

As another IT developer to another I feel you. Also at the same time I know for sure those poor devs were RUSHED to do their job. There's a lot of loose ends can't blame them if they have short timelines

This is so frustrating. I’ve been getting ghost updates from February 1st to now. It’s been a month and still have no update in regards to the background check and eligibility. Did anyone’s background check start? And if yes pls share your timeline!!

My guess is that PR tracker maintains its own databases for inquiry purposes (and not for processing). Data are synced from other systems into the PR Tracker's databases. Probably that did not work out well (we had over a month of no updates in the Tracker), and IRCC now attempts to reload the data every night, resulting in ghost updates everyday. Haha, they should not update the Last Update Time field upon syncing.

My background check got completed in January but my PR tracker didn't showcase this until Feb 1st. Haven't received ANY updates since then though.
