For most cases, its coinciding with criminality check renewal as some members mentioned. In few cases, there will be status change in the next few days.
My wife received gcms this week and it was coinciding with background check renewal after 1 year of criminality passed last year. So i assume that it was the case for me and my wife.
My ghost update was in oct hence no updates immediately after ghost update since there was no real progress to the application itself except background recheck.
My DM and oath date notification came only this month, after i emailed my processing office to consider finalizing my file since its been 2 years.

@harirajmohan Thank you for your quick response. Is the BG renewal automatic or do we have to submit anything. I mean, if one has not asked for FP during the first BG, is it renewed automatically. Thanks

Seems the local office(, the officer) only renewing it by rechecking rcmp records as per gcms log updates. In some cases they might ask for fingerprint, just like during the first time they will ask for few but nothing to be given from our end. it seems like its part of their process to keep the criminality records current every year till oath.

Hi, Do you know how much it takes time to get PPR after Ghost Update for a Work Permit visa?

Hello,

Do you know that Ghost Update will happen once your application passes one step and entering to a new step OR it will happen once someone opens your file?

I don’t believe GU will happen once someone opens a profile.

Actually, I received the second GU on min and my dependents (Spouse and Children) on Aug 17th and still waiting.
