getting work permit at border

I am a student in Canada and belong to india .I have valid study visa but I got positive LMO and job offer from an employer in Vancouver. can I apply at border for work permit so that I can change my status from student to a worker . I have not completed my course yet.

You can try to submit a work permit. if they satisfy they will provide a work permit. but i don't think that, boarder crossing for the work permit is not good idea. specially Asians. one of my friend works as a boarder officer, I asked him to cross the boarder to get the work permit fast. but he said is there less chance for the Asians and some other countries. and more chances for Europeans, UK citizen, USA citizen.
