Getting visa to see the country before immigration

Hi.
I am now collecting documents to apply for FSW immigration.
But all my knowledge about Canada is virtual by now, I have never visited American continent yet :).
So my planes are first of all to come as a tourist for couple of weeks, so I will at least see the country before I will come as a permanent resident.
I have heard that getting a tourist visa (I leave in Armenia) is not easy and chances are big to get a rejection.\
Can the fact that I am applying for FSW help to get the visa?
Which is the best way to obtain it?

Thank you in advance.

You may apply for TRV AFTER your FSW file is opened and you got a AOE (less chances to be rejected).
You should apply for a short visit and demonstrate reasons why you would not stay in Canada beyond your TRV visa lengh.

However, you could be easily rejected becuase as a PR (if you get it) you can go to Canada and if do not like what you see :) you could easy go back to Armenia. You would not be detained in Canada against your will. :D

I must ask, does your visit to Canada help with deciding if you want an FSW or not, if so it is better to go there first than apply for FSW.

The main focus of any immigration officer is that you have provided sufficient proof that you will go back home to Armenia.

They look at family ties, job, property or any other evidence that will prove you will return. Ideally if you can prove that you should get the visa

Good that they will not keep me as a hostage
For sure they would not. :D

There is no much sense to go to Canada on reason that you would like to see the country before applying for immigration.

Do not confuse tourism and immigration. ;) Short visit tells you nothing in terms of your necessary steps for integration into Canadian life what you could not figure out on the Internet and forums. You actually could get more info on the internet than during 2-3 weeks visit.

I am applying in any case now.
Just want to see the country before the official permission.
