Getting sponsored to stay but how do I get a permit to work??

Hi everyone,

I am trying to arrange my immigration to Quebec. I'm from the US and my husband is sponsoring me - he's Canadian. I think I understand that process (first applying for him to be a sponsor to CIC and then waiting for approval and then applying to Quebec for approval, right?) but I don't see when I apply for my work permit.

Can I apply for an open work permit at the same time, with the rest of the process, or do I have to wait??

Are you applying Inland or Outland for the spousal sponsorship?

If Inland, you can apply for the OWP at the same time as the sponsorship.

If Outland, you are not eligible for a WP (but the process is usually faster, depending on where you are).
