I'm so excited this proccess is nearly over!!

I rec'd my passport back today along with the CoPR. I plan to go over to the States tomorrow and ask to be turned around back into Canada. I have my birth cert, my CoPR, my Passport, a list of things I plan to bring over (not a list really just my computer lol) and my common law Gf will be with me.

Am I missing anything??

Do they need to know if I have any funds in the UK? (I do)

I'm ready to do this thing! lol

Just to add, thank you to everyone who helped me on this forum. This was a very difficult process at some points and having all the information and advice here really helped a lot. Good luck to everyone still going through it.

Congratulations! they didn't ask us for anything except passport and COPR. you don't need to declare any funds if you don't have them with you, but they do ask you to declare things in advance if you plan to take them with you next time.
it was our experience.

Yeehaw, congrats! That's very exciting news!

Found some cool stuff on the Border Services website about declaring your stuff that you can bring over from your country of origin, something to think about for you maybe? You can declare "goods to follow" and you have 1 year to bring over all your household items duty/tax free, but you have to declare everything you'll bring and it's value at your time of landing. If you will be a resident for the first time, your stuff doesn't have to be very used so long as it appears used "for a period of time". So in other words, if you are from the US you get to SHOP all year in the US for free, so long as you declare it all now (and it's in the list of allowable goods on their website, etc) and use it a little bit before you bring it over (or put it in suitcases rather than shopping bags). Some things which have serial numbers need to be listed now,but for other goods I think you could get away with it!

My list would be something like:
150 Pairs of shoes
1 bucket-load of jewellery
10 jackets (5 leather)
15 pairs of pants
5 trunk-loads of sports equipment
25 tops and sweaters
1 crate of Victoria's Secret bejewelled bras

Now if I only had the money for any of that... sigh... (Sorry, I suppose I shouldn't be posting sneaky stuff on a lawyer's website... ahem.)

Unfortunately this isn't a very useful loop-hole for us since everything in Switzerland is more expensive and they won't allow food (no chocolate - SNIFF! No cheese -SOB!) but from the US it could be useful maybe?

Good luck landing and enjoy your time in Canada!

Bring any papers that came with your passport and you are all set to land. The only thing they ask about funds is if you are bringing more than $10,000 in cash.

Brilliant, thanks guys. I'm getting so nervous/excited now!

I have all my stuff pretty much in the country anyway as I've been living here for 18 months and don't have much else I would like to bring. Maybe my PC but I'll declare it just in case I do decide to bring it later on. If I don't bring it it's ok I'll just sell it to my mum lol

I'm sure it will be like all the other immigration things I do where I will bring a mountain of 'just in case they need it' paperwork and then they wont :D
