Hi all,

We got our PPR and sent off to Fort Erie, just a quick question..as we are already living in Canada what is the process for finalizing PR? And how long, in anyone's experience, does it take before you get the COPR letter and PP back?

Thanks!

1. About 2/3 weeks for the COPR and then you either go to a Border Port of entry and "flagpole" to "land" or call the call centre and make an appointment for an inland office.
2. You PR card would arrive about 37 working days in the mail.

Many thanks for your reply!! So if we wanted to go to an inland office would we have to wait long for an appointment or is it pretty quick? I'm thinking 'flag poling' would be best though, we're not that far from the US border....

The time varies, on average over a month, some locations are faster.

Would rather not have to wait for an appointment so I guess a day 'fun' day out is on the cards!
Thanks for the replies guys - appreciate it :)

The call center can make urgent requests for appointments if your PR visa expires soon and you live far from the nearest border.
