Getting Policy Certificate from Spain

Hi,

Does anybody have an experience in getting a policy certificate from Spain OUTSIDE Spain?
I'm NOT a citizen nor a resident there but I lived there for a year.
I'm trying to figure out the process as I will have to request it by mail from abroad.
And I have a big question mark concerning getting the apostille for the certificate.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
According to the official instructions of the Spanish government, it says: SI LOS CERTIFICADOS HAN DE TENER EFECTOS EN EL EXTRANJERO TENDRÁN QUE SER LEGALIZADOS O APOSTILLADOS. (if the requested certificates should be effective in other countries, they should be legalised or apostilled)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The certificate request form does have a section which asks if the police certificate will be used overseas
A. INDIQUE, SI EL CERTIFICADO HA DE TENER EFECTOS EN EL EXTRANJERO:
A. Please indicate if the certificate shouldu be effective abroad:

However, nowhere states that ticking the box for the above question will get my police certificate apostilled.
Because I will have to request it remotely, I want to make sure I make no mistake, and get this done with a single shot.

Does anybody know how to? Please share with me your experience :) !

Thank you!

Hello there,

I am in the same thing as you were last year. I have just received an invitation to apply to CIC PR and I do not have a clue how to get the PPC from Spain, where I lived 8 years ago. I contacted the ministry of justice, the Spanish consulate in Toronto, and Exterior affairs, but, always I get different answers about the process. So far, I am not sure what kind, how many, and where to buy the prepaid envelope that they said to include. I am not sure about how the file, once has been issued by the ministry of justice, reaches the Exterior affairs to be legalized and finally the verification by the Canadian Consulate in Spain; who is responsible for this?. Because the ministry of justice states that they are not responsible for any documentation lost and the info provided on the website is very vague.

Please, if you can provide me with any input in this matter would be appreciated.

Thanks!
