Getting Police clearance certificate from India while in USA

My wife and me applied for PCC in Houston Indian embassy. Mine came in 1 week since my passport was renewed once in Houston. But my wife it's been 3 months, we have not received it yet. They are asking me to approach someone in RPO Bangalore to follow up. Did anyone experience this?

Got it and it took 6 months.. had to send my brother to follow up in India and frequent follow up with CIG
Where to go for follow up regional passport office or local police station. Plz reply as it's been 4 weeks.
