Hello,
I am an international student for 2021 Sep entry and my study permit was approved in June. Now I have got my study visa on my passport and I plan to enter Canada (and get my study permit paper) in Sep. When I was applying for my study permit, I mentioned my marital status as "single" because I was not married nor living common-law at that time.
Now I am planning to get married before landing in Canada. I am wondering if I need to notify IRCC of my marital status change? I am asking so because, on the website of IRCC (help center), applicants need to notify them of marital status change for an IRCC application which is "in progress". Since my study permit was approved online, but I have not yet landed and obtain the paper, I am not sure if my application is still meant to be "in progress". If not doing so, would this be considered as misrepresentation, and influence on our future applications with IRCC?
Thank you!
