Hello,

I am new here. I am sorry if my question has been asked and answered many times, I tried to search the forum without much success.

I got my ITA in January and completed my profile online on MyCIC early in February. At the time of the application I was single, and still currently am. But I am planning to get married in a couple of weeks, and add my future wife to my application so we could both get our permanent residency and move to Canada.

I wanted to know how should I notify CIC about the change in my status, how do I add my future wife to my profile, what are the documents that we need to submit...

Here is a small excerpt from the document I received upon submitting my permanent residency application:

If your circumstances change you have to let us know. To notify CIC of changes to your application, visit
www . cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/missions.asp (SORRY I AM NOT ALLOWED TO POST LINKS) select the office that serves the country in which you are
living, and follow the directions for "Case Specific Enquiry."
More particularly, please inform us about any:

Change in family composition including new born children, adopted children, divorce, marriage etc

As you can see not much information is provided anywhere. I have sent an inquiry about my concerns to the embassy in Lebanon (I am Lebanese and currently living in Lebanon) following the link provided above but I am not sure I can get a reply quickly enough (in around 28 days).

I know that my future wife will have to do her medicals, what is the process to follow. Should I go to the same doctor that did mine and tell him to add her results to my profile?
How about paying any additional fees...

I have so many unanswered questions and so little information. I would really appreciate your help. Thanks

Since, you have got married after receiving ITA I'm sure you can notify CIC and add your spouse paying RPFR and application fees. Since, your CRS won't go down as you will be getting married soon.

Hey thanks for your reply.

Yes I know that, but I wanted to know more about the procedure. How should I notify them? What documents should I send?

All I know is that I should notify them of any changes, and the information I've submitted online cannot be modified.

Email them that you want to change your Civil status as Married, and you would like to add your spouse to your on going application. Also request them to provide you with list of documents which needs to be provided in order to add your spouse to your application. They respond you with details. Hope this helps.

You would'be received the document checklist as part of your eAPR. But that doesn't matter now. Wait till you're married and have a marriage certificate before doing anything else - IRCC wouldn't consider you as a married applicant otherwise.

Apart from the marriage certificate, you will need their passport, their medicals (you can book an appointment at the same clinic, inform them that you want an upfront medicals for your spouse this time around), PCC(s) for each country they have lived in for 6 months or more since turning 18, additional fee for IRCC to include them in your application and additional POF ($15143 for 2 applicants) as well.

You'll also need to fill the 'Additional Family Information' form (www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5406E.PDF) and send all of this via generic CSE (https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx) by choosing 'Express Entry' in the drop down menu and quoting your EE reference number. IRCC will typically take 4 weeks before adding your spouse to this application.

All the best!
