Getting Married and Bringing My Wife from India

I have a postdoctoral position for one year (Renewable) from a Canadian University in Ontario from 1st of June. I am planning to start my application for work permit in the next week. Me and my fiancee have exchanged rings recently. However, we are not married yet and planning to get married in December this year. Therefore, I would like to know the possibility of bringing my wife along with me just after my marriage (January, 2015). Is there any way that that I can mention my expected date of marriage during my application process. Further, if we legally marry during May and plan our wedding ceremony during December will that help? Because she would have enough time to apply for a dependent visa from May to December.
Your suggestions in this regard will be highly appreciated.

Regards,
Rubu

You can only sponsor a spouse once you're already legally married to that person.

You can submit the application after the May legal wedding; that's fine. But you'd be missing out on the pics of the December religious wedding ceremony though (unless there will be many guests during the legal wedding ceremony). It's better to submit as many proofs as possible...

Thanks for your reply. I will be staying for a maximum period of two years in Canada and my wife would not be keen to work in Canada. I would like to know if she can apply for a dependent visa without a work permit? I guess processing time for dependent visa is less than for a work permit?

You should post your question in the International Students section, this section is for Canadian citizens and PRs who want to sponsor their spouses for permanent residency. The procedures are completely different.
