Hi All,

When you have added your spouse as a dependent on your application, what does that mean when the principal applicant gets granted his/her PR? Does the spouse also get PR or does that just mean you can sponsor your spouse when you land in Canada?
You both get your PR together or none at all. All this happens before landing.

Hello Deadbird, Please I need more explanation on you answer to question 3. I plan to get married on 3rd feb, do Medicals for my spouse on the 4th of feb and raise CSE on the 5th of Feb. Are you saying the medicals would not be valid ?? Kindly explain

Not sure which question 3 you are referring to; but assuming it is regarding doing medicals before marriage.

I don't know for sure; however note that the medical exam for your spouse is under family category and you may be required to provide your EE number or UCI number for the principal applicant (you). So it seems likely that your spouse may only be able to do their medical exam after the marriage. However, I haven't heard of anyone getting rejected for the same.

Your current plan of doing the medical exam a day after the marriage seems totally fine.

Hi,

I'm a December AOR applicant, expecting my PPR hopefully anytime between today and June.

I may be getting married soon. I expect this likely to happen after I'm issued COPR and before landing. I'm wondering if anybody have experience/ knowledge of the process of getting the wifey PPR too. How to inform CIC of the change, what's the process after that, how long does it typically take, etc?

Would be very grateful to hear your experiences/ opinions.

Also side question, is it Ok to do landing and then leave after a few days, provided we supply an address of a friend whom will courier us PRs home later on? I.e. do we need to (legally or practically) be physically present in Canada while our PR cards are being prepared?

Many thanks!

Congratulations on the marriage. First you have to do is called them send her medicals and pcc upfront

Hey folks couple of questions:

1. Can I start the PCC process before getting married?

2. For medical, what other information/document i need to provide my wife so that she can complete this. Just providing AOR # starts with EE....is enough?

Hi there,
I need some suggestions!
When we create express entry profile it asks "Will your spouse or common-law partner come with you to Canada?" that means we've right to include or not to include spouse in it right?
I'm legally married and my wife lives in India. She has spouse dependent open work permit but she never came to Canada. Now I'm planning to apply for PR but I don't want to include her as secondary applicant because she never wanna come here. How safe it is to apply without spouse? I asked some immigrant consultants and advised me to be more careful while doing so. Do you think CIC may suspect something else or is it good to go without worrying?
And to be honest I do not wanna misrepresent my application to CIC.

Thanks
