My medicals were done in March 2017. As per my information, one needs to travel to Canada within 1 year of medicals. If I get married in February and inform CIC about change in status which can mean delay of 2 months or so, I will not be able to travel with 1 year. What will happen in this situation? Will exception be allowed? Or new medicals are needed.

Hey Drako986,

I also belong to Vienna VO. I added my spouse after getting married in August and submitted her documents on 19th September. I did receive a PPR before I added her. Did you hear anything further from CIC. Did you notice any status changes in Additional documents section?

I submitted documentation for spouse 11th August. The only change so far is her addition in the MyCIC account with a UCI number.
Did they ask for medicals with her documentation?

You will be asked to do a new set of medicals along with your spouse.

Thanks. And what is the maximum time after receiving my stamped passport can I delay my travel there? To fit in marriage and plan accordingly.

Your visa is valid one year from the date you passed medicals. You need to inform CIC about marriage before that. But you have to actually get married before informing them.
Do all the things as earlier as you can not to push it to the last enter date on your visa.

Hi,

Yes medical was one of the thing they asked for but it was optional. It was clearly mentioned that you can opt for a pre medical test or wait for their instructions for getting a medical test done. I took a medical and submitted the report along with other documents on 19th September. I noticed that the status of ‘Additional Documents’ changed for 3-4 times. Initially it was documents uploaded, then it changed to documents under review. Again it changed back to documents uploaded and finally since many days it is documents under review. My spouse’s UCI number was generated within 2-3 days of submitting the documents.

Not sure how long will it take to receive the golden mail again. Fingers crossed!!

I was nominated under OINP. Got PPR and may get married now so there will be change in status. Will I have to inform OINP also, in addition to CIC? Will there be recalculation of score and thus re-consideration of nomination by OINP if I inform OINP??? - I am not sure if my score will stay above 400 once I add my spouse. I know there won't be from end of CIC.

no recalculation of score but yes you have to inform cic if you ever want to sponsor your wife in the future. if you land as single when you're not, you'll never be able to sponsor your spouse. there won't be a score recalculation but you will need to submit your spouse's medicals and PCC.

Thanks, what about OINP? I must inform them too I believe. Will they recalculate scores and check it's above 400? Mine may become 395.

in FSW scores aren't recalculated. i'm assuming it's the same for OINP but better to double check. Does it matter anyways? It's not like you're going to cancel your wedding for that :) If you want to go for the spousal sponsorship route, better land first while not married but it's a long road still
