Hello everyone,

So let me explain everything.

My fiance decided to apply for her canadian PR under the express entry program and submitted her application in the first week of Dec 2018 with a CRS score of 471. She received her invite a week later, finished her police clearance and medical tests (1st week of Jan) and is on the verge of submitting all her required documents (within the 60 day deadline) and paying the CAD 1125 fee by the end of next week.

Due to lack of information, we had initially decided that i would join her in Canada on the basis of spousal sponsorship but have since then found out that this process is quite complicated and takes too long. After reading a few forum posts here, we are thinking of getting legally married next month or so (it takes about a month to register for a marriage here in India) in court, adding my name as a secondary applicant by notifying IRCC, submitting my required documents (i'm assuming i'll need the marriage certificate, police clearance and medical..anything else?) and getting my PR with her and moving to Canada together.

What we are unsure about is,

1. Should she email IRCC now itself and have her points recalculated before submitting her documents?

OR

2. Email IRCC after the fees have been paid to avoid recalculation of points.

Another thing is, my fiance has been living and working in Dubai since March of last year, and has got her PCC done in both countries. If we decide to take this step and add my name, how will the PPR process work? Will she have to come back here to India for it?

Kindly help us out and let me know if you need any other info, thanks!

Inform IRCC as and when you get married and have the marriage certificate in hand. You can't add yourself as a dependent until you're not married.
