Hi there!
I went to visit my girlfriend in canada past September till March 2014. I am currently in Croatia, my home country and she is in Canada (Qc,Montreal).. She has Canadian and Croatian citizenship.
Marrying her in Croatia is impossible since same sex marriage is banned and frowned upon in Croatia.

i read that after spending 6 months as a tourist, I would require to spend 6 months in my home country before coming back. We want to be together. We want to get married, apply for the sponsorship and finally my PR!!
I'm worried I would get my entry denied upon arriving to Canada if I say we plan on getting married.

*How much must does she need to earn to qualify as a sponsor ...shes taking some time off school to save some money for us, If the regulations are different between provinces we are willing to relocate, find new job, wtv... also im interested in how long does the PR process take? please help us!

Any information would be greatly appreciated !!!!

First off, if you are able to get a visa to come to Canada for 6 months, you could likely extend that visa to remain here for another 6 months to become common law, if that is your wish, or you can just go ahead and get married as you stated and apply immediately for your PR sponsorship.

She does not need to have an income in order to sponsor you, however you two must provide CIC with a solid viable plan as to how you will support yourselves once you are granted a PR Visa. They will not accept you going on welfare once you arrive. She would need a step or two more in Quebec to sponsor you, and a bit more money for the CSQ paperwork, but essentially the entire process is the same across the country. The application process will cost you $1040 total (add I think it's $269 for CSQ in Quebec) plus any fees you incur for medical (which can be done by any panel physician wherever in the world you wish) and police clearances you would need to obtain or any other notarized or official documentation you would need to supply for a complete application.

As far as how long it would take, I have no idea. I would consult the listing on the CIC website for whomever processes the application for Croatia. If you were to file an Inland application, it would take roughly ~10 months for first stage approval and roughly another 8 months for your PR Visa to be issued. It is a long hard wait doing the Inland process but sometimes, based on the VO of your home country is shorter.

If you have specific questions ask them here and they can usually be answered rather quickly by an entire fleet of people who have gone through or are going through this very same process.

Best of luck to you and your fiance!
