Getting FBI records for spouse visa? How too...

Does anyone know about this Expungement? It was just police came, arrested me, cause I was there, my mom didn't show up to courts, even paid for my lawyers, and the case was dismissed. I mean I hope this doesn't stop me from immigrating to canada on a spouse visa. All cause my mom was nuts!

Explain it to Township Police Dept that you are not in USA and ask jhow to find out if arrest record exists. Though it is not likely they will tell but since you are out of country, they may be able to provide help or guide you. Contact the state police also (link and contact info posted earlier). You may be able to get some information and some idea about how the arrest records are retained or processed in that state.
As far CIC is concerned, an arrest record raises a Red Flag

But they were not sure.
I had called up the main records for it they said if I was not in prison or had a parol officer then it won't be on my criminal record since it was dropped. And that if it does show up on the record from the FBI it will state that it was dropped and along with a report. But she was not sure.
I called up the police station, and the lady said it does show up on the record. So this lady said it will show up and that it's dismissed.
Since you just said it will raise a red flag. My mom use to call the cops on me non-stop and on my sister. Now that my sister has kids, she's doing the same thing the last 5 years she must of called on her son about 50 times. Both my mom and sister are alcoholics and the police station knows the house by now and knows what goes on but they can not do anything about it. They have to come out when someone calls. Thank god I don't live in that house no more! It was a nightmare and stress, I tell you! And I don't have a criminal record as I am clean! Even immigration in the USA told me not to worry, just got to watch out for my driving and not get anymore speeding tickets. Even in immigration court in the US I WAS CLEAN! And had no problems! So if US had no problems then I believe Canada won't either cause they share records, and if you have a DUI I know Canada won't let you into Canada and same for US they won't let you in if you have a DUI!
I mean I could explain to CIC officer if an interview happens, and they can call up the police station and ask how many times the cops were called at that address and I haven't live there in over 7 years. So the kids are not the problem just the parents.
It was a very messed up life.

You have option to get the official town or state or FBI record. If there is any adverse information then you can either get it expunged or explain it to CIC. Expungement process can take several months. So decide. Take Care.

I just printed out the sheets for the FBI now and I am on my way to the police station to get my finger prints done. I did not send in my application yet. Just doing all the stuff as in fingerprinting, next will be to get the medical done.RajaJi said:
I can always explain CIC, I did already last year when I got married to my girlfriend. And they were very understanding about what happened to me in my past. I keep staying positive.
I emailed a few free lawyers over the night time and got a reply from one of them stating this.
If you were not convicted you should not have a record. A background search may still show that you were arrested. An expungement will not purge an arrest record. Unfortunately I don't believe there is anything out office can do for you at this point.

Explaining to girlfriend or a friend or a relative is different and their understanding will be different from view point CIC will have. Everything might go well or you may be required to prove to CIC that situation is not as appears with a record of 'Arrest'.SpouseVisa said:
I do not agree with that lawyer. With expungement, record is sealed and will not show on any background check you obtain from Town, State or FBI. It is a court order and cannot be ignored by police departments or FBI unless there is an extreme situation and immigration is not one of them. It allows you to legally state on immigration forms or to anyone that you have never been arrested. Without expungement of Arrest Record(s) if you state that you have never been arrested will not be truthful. There is a statement on immigration forms asking if you have ever been arrested - to which you have to say Yes or No.

"Michigan law says that we delete the arrest record if there is no conviction. I am not finding a Michigan record, which suggests that it was done correctly. If you could please tell me your date of birth, I can verify that the FBI cleanup went through as well."

Anyways red flags or not I was arrested in Canada as well! And I had no problems coming in after it!
