Getting an Indian PCC through BLS

Here are my timelines (in greater detail to help others in a similar situation):

0) 25th Dec 2020 - Applied on Passport website. My passport has an old address (different State) as compared to the address on my Aadhar and my PCC app. Confirmed this is fine as long as Aadhar card address matches the PCC app. Also provided only my Indian phone number (switched off, with only WhatsApp active) on the PCC app
1) 29th Dec 2020 - Booked a Walk-in appointment > Took the earliest available slot for 18th Jan 2021 at 8am (Vancouver downtown)
2) 18th Jan 2021 - Went to BLS. Made me wait for additional 15 mins. There were just 2 applicants other than me. Submitted all the required docs. They just took 1 Photo from me, they did not need the checklist. Verified my original passport and returned it back. Additionally I gave my very old PCC (from a different state) and they said it would make no difference - but still made them include that old PCC in the app since I heard that it might help speed up - might be a myth.
4) 19th Jan - They sent my application to CGI
5) 20th Jan - Received email - Initiation of Police Verification Request(s) for your PCC Application File (xxxxx). Same day I called my local police station (its a very small town) to explain my situation that my house is always locked and I have absolutely no relatives in that state. The cops were not much interested since they didn't even receive my App. They gave me the passport in charge's mobile number. I sent him all my documents (Passport/Aadhar) to his WhatsApp. He replied he will get in touch once he receives the app.
7) 27th Jan - The police in charge messaged me on WhatsApp, I called him and again explained my situation. He was very polite and just asked me to WhatsApp him "any" of my contact's Aadhar Card copy who has his jurisdiction's local address. That was easy!
8) 29th Jan - I WhatsApp'ed him my CA's Aadhar Card copy.
9) 29th Jan - Passport website status changed to Printed, and BLS Site showed In-transit from CGI to BLS.
10) Unfortunately BLS had forced me to opt for their super expensive Purolator courier even though I live practically few blocks from their office. Purolator never delivers to most downtown buildings including mine and I am waiting for their missed delivery notification.

Hoping my PCC is all good (read: not adverse) - most likely is, since the cop never got back to me and they seem to follow the rule of entertaining you only if they need info/docs. Will update once I receive the PCC.

I sent postal application on 27th Jan 2021 and it was received at BLS ottawa office on 28th Jan 2021.
Today i got an email from BLS mentioning that they have received the application.
But the application status on bls website still show no record found.

I will for "Received email - Initiation of Police Verification Request(s) for your PCC Application File (xxxxx)", and then I will contact the police station in my city in India.

11) 2/2/21 - Finally received PCC in hand. In all, it took 14 days.

I applied for my pr from Canada and I received the ITA. I have to get my pcc for my pr, but I need to go to India immediately as it’s a personal emergency. I’m not sure when I’ll return. So can I get the pcc in India though I applied the pr application from inside Canada? If yes, what is the procedure for it?

Mine was delivered to BLS Brampton on January 22, 2021 and I got email confirmation from them on January 29, 2021.
Can you please update me if they have sent your application to CGI yet? Mine is still “no record found”

Here is my timeline, hoping that it would help others. I used the pickup and drop-off BLS service.

Jan 20th - Package delivered to Brampton BLS
Jan 26th - Confirmation mail of my application from BLS (I did follow up on their twitter handle)
Jan 28th - Package sent to Consulate
Jan 29th - Police verification initiated
Feb 1st - Police visited the home and cleared my application from his side (we know that local police very well and he didn't delayed it from his side)
Between Feb 2nd - Feb8th - No Updates
Feb 8th - Printing completed
Same day, delivered to BLS from consulate
Feb 9th - Ready for dispatch
Feb 10th - BLS drop off airway bill generated and updated in tracking site
Feb 11th (today) - PCC delivered at doorstep

Not sure if this is fast or slow, but in my case, BLS did a good job. Good luck to everyone.

Note - I made a mistake in PCC application form. I written full name of my father and mother with their initials but BLS asked me to write whatever in the passport. (In my passport, only their given name was printed. please note this)

I am in the same boat. Applied from Ottawa on 9th Feb and now its showing 'PCC processing at consulate'. Does anyone know how much is the processing time?

Hey for PCC you need to fill an application form ( make sure fill the correct details)
download 3 police clearance form( download) .4 photos 2×2 inches . passport copy and stamped copy . current address proof. ( drivers license/health card). demand draft $44.44. I also send them my work permit copy.

Go to their website and download their checklist. In order to send a postal application, you need to create an application on the embassy's website and print it. Along with the application, you need to send the documents in the checklist (including your passport) with a money order (fees are on their website). You can get this money order at any Canada post location. Keep in mind that you have to pay cash for your money order. I used their courier service to have my passport and PCC shipped back to my address. You can find it under their VAS section.

I have made the application at the embassy's website. Can you confirm if we need to send the original passport or copies of relevant pages?
I am also planning to take the service from the Brampton center, can you please tell me the total amount that I need to make the money order? Is it one or multiple and addressed to whom?

Posting my timeline for others:

1. Application dropped in-person at BLS Vancouver (downtown) on Feb.10.2021
Tip: Arrive at least half hour before open (7.30am) to be among the first few applicants for the day. Had to go back the day before as there was a line up of about 15-20 applicants at 7.55am.

2. Application sent to CGI, Vancouver on Feb.11.2021
3. Received email "Initiation of Police Verification Request(s) for your PCC Application File (No. CAVxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) on Feb.13. with information on the local police station that the application was sent to.
4. Had someone go to the police station on Mon. to follow-up; verification was done later that evening on Feb.15.2021
Tip: Send scanned copies of the following documents to your local contact in advance - Passport, Marriage certificate, Aadhar card. The officer performing verification did see these documents.
If possible, ask someone locally to visit the police station as this may help hasten the process.
5. Status changed on Passport portal to "Police Clearance Certificate has been printed." and on BLS portal to "In Transit from Consulate General to BLS Centre" Feb.17.2021.

So far it has been a week and I am really amazed by how fast the process has been.

No, I don't think it was sent to India, in my case.
My passport was renewed/issued in US.


Here's the timeline:

- Application Dropped at Purolator office: 5/19 (+0 day)
- Application reached BLS: 5/20 (+1 days)
- BLS notification about application received: 5/22 (+3 days)
- Status changed to processing at consulate: 5/23 (+4)
- Dispatched back: 5/25 (+6)
- Received: 5/29 (+10)

So overall, door to door it took ~ 10 days including weekends.

I sent separate application for wife and myself. Both followed same timeline.

Looking at the posts here, I think we got lucky.
