Hi all,

If I get a positive LMIA job offer while in Canada with a tourist visa, is there a way to get a work visa without leaving Canada?

Thanks!

You don't need to leave Canada at all..

Just go to Canadian government site and apply for a work permit and pay the fee ... (180 dollars).
You will receive your work permit.

But do this before your tourist VISA expires. If your tourist visa expires then you become illegal in Canada...

You can apply for work permit any time before your tourist visa expires. Until your work permit arrives, you're allowed to stay in Canada under "Implied Status."

Many thanks for this kvrforum! Would you know how long the processing time for the work permit is, if applied within Canada?

Check on Canadian Government site.

They have estimated work permit issue time for each countries.

For some countries which have good relationship with Canada, it takes less than a month given that you already have a positive LMIA.
