I want to find out if becoming a Canadian Permanent Resident makes my US Adjustment of Status case invalid? I am in the US waiting for my family based petition priority date to come in date (Visa Bulletin) and I have an advance parole doc (to reenter US if needed) and a work permit (which I use to work), but i had also applied to get a Canadian PR under the express entry system and was finally approved. However, now I need to go to Canada to 'land' and receive my Canadian PR card (in 3 weeks) but I am scared that if I do, the USCIS will consider me to have abandoned my Adj of Status. Does anyone know if this is true? And if going to Canada to get my Canadian residency means I do not intend to reside in the US (for the record - I do intend to reside in the US, but it's just that i want the option to be able to work and commute, as in a border worker, or even work remotely for a Canadian firm).
