Alberta relatively has a better job market than most other places in Canada. Accounting and finance in general is not a skill really short in Canada.
Plus there are specifics to Canada, local laws and knowledge which would require you to undergo some sort of training / at least 6 months certification etc. to be able to work right away.
So getting a job in your area of experience right away would be hard though not impossible.
Meanwhile there is no shortage of survival jobs if you are willing to do those e.g. working at tim hortons etc. Many people work there on cash - often are low paid because they might not have a legal work permit. So having an OWP might help getting a bit more money.
Of course you might end up doing some thing different and better paying (neither tim hortons, nor your field) but little can be said about that before hand.
To some extent, you might face a bit of obsession with Canadian experience (not with the tim hortons and the likes though) but hopefully it won't be too much of an element.
Hope that helps.
