If you have great experience, good professional references and a good resume for the Canadian marketplace this is how you begin.

You also have to learn the do's and don'ts of networking, interviewing and following-up. Like in any country there is certain business ettiquette that you must follow. Learn the process. Employers will absolutely understand some small mistakes, but they expect you to have researched the changes (if any) you need to make in approaching and applying in the local job market.

To get in-depth information on strategies for the Canadian job market go to careego.com

Join professional associations, go to networking events, career fairs - but know the job search protocols.

Build your profile on professional networking sites like www.linkedin.com. Companies and recruiters use these sites to find and screen candidates.

Make sure your resume is geared for the Canadian marketplace as there are vast differences between certain countries.

While you can use the government job site, larger companies looking for professionals will use key sites like www.workopolis.com. Mega-search engines like www.eluta.ca and www.indeed.ca will help you cover a much larger base as they crawl through many job bulletin board sites.

careego.com will give you endless advice on how to approach the Canadian job market and what you should be actively doing and what to expect.
