Hi! My fiance (canadian citizen) and I are planning to get married this Dec (civil wedding). But before that I am thinking to apply first TRV while my status is still single and hoping my visa will be approved. Then we will get married. I'll go back with him and his mom in Canada and apply for Inland sponsorship with OWP. Is there gonna be a problem with that? We really need some help for this.

Hi, what country are you from? That sounds like a good plan. If you are from a country where TRV refusal rates are high and yours gets refused, that may also give you a chance of applying conjugal. But the first step is to apply for the TRV. Do that as soon as possible :) make sure to check for any country specific requirements for your application package

It’s likely that your TRV application will be refused since you are from the Philippines. But you can’t apply for conjugal unless you apply for a TRV first and show that it had been rejected
There are no grounds for conjugal in this case. They will have to go for an outland sponsorship if TRV is refused. Unfortunately chances of refusal are pretty high.

My apologies, I was under the impression that a TRV getting refused is grounds for conjugal. What would be grounds for conjugal then? If they cannot travel to get married

You have to have immigration barriers that prevent you from getting married. For example if same sex couples are no allowed to get married or in the Philippines divorce is not allowed so a second marriage would not be possible unless you can get an annulment. Getting approved for conjugal is difficult and only applies to very few couples.

Hi everyone! I hope you can give me some advice and help me with my situation. I’am a canadian citizen and I have a boyfriend for 4 years that lives in another country and he has a tourist visa. What is the best way to do sponsorship? Should I go where he is and get married there then come back and apply for OUTLAND sponsorship or should he come here and we get married then apply for INLAND sponsorship? Which one would be faster?

Both take approximately 12 months.
