Get Passport back

Getting my passport back soon:

January 25th I requested my passport back from IRCC etobicoke because they are the ones who took it when I claimed asylum. I emailed them (CIC-Etobicoke-Immigration@cic.gc.ca) a letter and sent the same letter one week later by canada post (tracked).
In the letter I wrote my UCI, passport details, DOB, Name etc. and I attached my notice of seizure, copy of my passport that I am requesting and my eCoPR.

February 20th I followed up with another email and a Webform.

March 5th 2024 I got an email from IRCC etobicoke with an appointment letter to come pick up the passport (appointment date is March 21st 2024)

Hope this helps. also there are others who have detailed the process to get your passport back from CBSA in this thread.

would you tell me what reason of request you told them to get it back ?

i have submitted my refugee claim in IRCC Montreal and surrendered my passport there. i got PR through care giver program and withdrew my claim. at present i am in BC. Could anyone explain how to get my passport back? i sent a letter to montreal IRCC and IRCC vancouver but no response from anywhere. i emailed CBSA Montreal and they asked me to ask IRCC.

I think they can issue your passport back only when you have got good excuse for that. What is your excuse? Do you have a PR now? Or you intend re-locating to another country?

I have PR now and i have withdrawn my refugee case as i got PR through spousal.

When we filed for spousal sponsorship the last email was sent to my wife was about applicant approval later all the rest email was received on my email address even the case approved, COpr , PR card approval. Later after getting my pr card I withdrew my refugee case and waiting for me seized passport to be returned.
Now I’m using my own email address to contact them and sending return of passport requests from my email address as pr and copr confirmation was received on my email address

Yes very true I got my passport back from airport road cbsa and I second they are very good. They requested my passports from montreal and then called me to collect. I collected it today. Appreciate such services. Anyone need help feel free to ask me to explain steps to get passport back.

Was your passport submitted with ircc in montreal ? I got my pr through spousal sponsorship and i faxed cbsa for passport they told me to ask ircc for it as i got pr. My question is can i ask cbsa to get my passport from ircc so i can pick from cbsa? I live in ottawa.
