Greater Toronto Enforcement Centre:

I am writing this letter to request the return of my passport as it was seized by migration office when I claimed refugee in Canada.

As you will see in the attached documents, I already withdrew my refugee claim, and I was also accepted as a permanent resident. My application was accepted as a family member of a protected person. I need my passport, as this document is the only one that I can use to travel abroad. Under the law I do not have any pending requesting, hearing or appointment; therefore, my passport should be returned.

I hope this document may be returned to my home address, or otherwise I could pick it up anywhere. You could contact me via e-mail, phone or mail. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

so apparently, i cant stay no more than 20 days in turkey with my canadian travel document.i have to be there for almost 40days during summer for two weddings.therefore i need to collect my passport and since its already expired, i need to change it so i need it immediately( i have to send it by mail to Washington in order to renew it).i just received my COPR, what is the fastest way to collect my passport.im in toronto and i claimed my case in toronoto.

Don’t travel to your country
Don’t use your home passport
If you do, you loosing your status and been deported

I went to IRCC Etobicoke office to ask for my passport which seized when i applied for Asylum i got my PR Card by mail last month and they told me to send a letter with Canadapost and explain why you need your Passport and they will send an appointment to come in person to collect the passport.
I sent a letter with Canada post on the 26/Nov/2021 to IRCC Etobicoke office (5343 Dundas St W) i tried contacting them so many times but no reply and i went in person last week to check and the Security told me to wait and they cannot give me an exact time.
Please if any of you know anything or you got your passport please share your experience
I will keep you guys posted on anything i receive.

Why do you need your passport brother? You can’t travel with home passport it’s not permitted

I have also applied for travel document is there any way to use our origin passport as there are some countries that don't accept RTD everyone has different opinion some will come up and say that we can use it and some says no i have couple of friends they have called IRCC and they told them once you are PR you can use it some asked CBSA when getting their passports back they said you can use it but don't use it to to travel back to your country while some Officers came up to not use it.Not sure what exactly is going on and how to confirm it

I was a protected person and I received my PR in January this year. I work for a Canadian organization in Mexico and I commute a lot between the two countries, I use my PR card and home country passport. I hope that settles the information

Please are you sure we don’t risk using our home passport??? Please answer big problem for everyone
Not renewed the home passport
Not going back home
Only travel to Cuba vacation
Is that a great risk???

Thank you so much for this forum guys, i got my PR through spousal sponsorship & withdrew my refugee claim- I was getting different answers from whomever i asked on how to get my passport returned-finally read this forum & visited the CBSA office at 6900 Airport road on January 12th 2021. I was told that my passport is in Montreal & they made me fill a form & said i will receive a call. They called yesterday & i went today morning to pick up my passport. Thanks for the Help Canada Visa Forum

I got my pr through my wife sponsored me I never had single hearing I think if I am not wrong I can get my passport back they seized my passport in Montreal office could you guys tell me how to get it back they did not seize my passport at border or airport I applied my claim at ircc Montreal office I went same office yesterday where they seized my passport Montreal immigration there was security card he gave me one email id to contact landing immigrant email it’s useless I got reply back automated it’s days due to corona we not giving any service to landing immigrants this is absolutely stupid response from them and idiot security guard had 0 clue I am so helpless my in-laws sick they are very old want to see me such a horrible situation don’t know what to do please help me I am in Montreal how to get my passport I can see here comment don’t need to use your home passport but I did not get my pr through refugee hearing my pr is under family category because my wife sponsored me please help anyone thanks

Do not use your country passport use only Canadian passport and yes you can go visit to your home country as a Canadian citizen

He is now dual citizen and can use his other passport. However, Canada has requirement to use Canadian passport on return to Canada. There is no restrictions attached to his other passport except that
