Get married in USA or Canada?

Plans to marry my Canadian boyfriend and have him sponsor me in Quebec. Can we get married in the US? or better to get married in Canada? I've heard that if he comes down for "marriage" as a visitor there could be issues after the fact...but isn't that just if he were staying in the US with me sponsoring him?
BTW, we are both retired.

Doesn't really matter, as far as I am aware, but I don't know about US immigration policy around this. For the Canadian PR - it doesn't matter where in the world you are married, provided it's legal there and in Canada.
