Hey everyone, new comer here. Me (Canadian) and my girlfriend (Filipina) are planning on getting married. She is hoping to join me in Canada. My question is, in regards to a PR spouse application. Is it easier to be married in PH or Canada? My thought was that if she is able to get a visitor visa it would be easier here in Canada and also she would be returning to PH while the PR application is processed. Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated :D Thanks!

I don't think getting married in either country really makes a difference. As long as the marriage is performed in accordance with the laws of the country you do decide to marry in. My gf and I are looking to marry outside of Canada in the US,trying to get a visa to enter Canada seems to be difficult. Best wishes too you.

please do let me know how this pans out, i got denied for a TRV to visit my BF (Canadian) this August and i will be applying for one again this month.

I want to meet his family and see the place and then we plan to marry in both countries (Phils and Canada).

What was the process of the TRV of your GF? Did she get approved?

Thank you,
Sher

Sher,
The reason why you got denied was you were not able to established your strong connection in going back to the Philippines.

Before you re-apply you have to very well established that you have every intention of going back to the Philippines.

Yup, zsashimi. Sher, when you got the refusal you were given a list of why your TRV application was denied. You have to overcome those objections otherwise you would just be paying again and get another refusal.
