I am living with my canadian girlfriend in canada as a visitor for 12 months now.
My visitors visa will expire in two months, and i recently started with the paperwork for permanent residency.
We are going the common-law route and apply inside canada.

A few quick questions that i was unable to find answers to with absolute certainty:

I served in the military in germany.
Is it correct that i do not have to fill out any additional paperwork for that?

It seems being from germany, i do not need a birth certificate.
Is that right or did i miss it in the document checklist?

I lived in the states on and off for almost a year with my girlfriend before we moved to canada.
Do i really need police certificates from germany, canada *and* the US?

Thank you very much!

Alright, so it seems i *do* need a translated and notarized birth certificate.
Sorry, must have missed it somehow on the document checklist.

The other two questions still stand.

Yes, you will need a police certificate from Germany and the US. They generally do not require police certificates from Canada.

Thank you very much, that helps!

I have a police report from germany 4 weeks before i left the country.
Since then (1 year) i have been living in canada.

Do i still need a new police report from germany?
(I hardly could have commited any crimes in germany while being in canada)

But you could in the four weeks between certificate being issued & leaving, so you'll need a new one I'm afraid. Certificates are normally valid for 6 months, or indefinitely if they were issued after the last time you were in that country.
