Mailing address is your current address, if you are out of india and you are selecting NDVO, it will surely add more processing time to your application, so I suggest you to select VO which is local to your current address.

No, this is not correct. Mailing and Residential address has nothing to do with "Processing times" or the selection of VO. It's there for the convenience of the applicant and CIC.

If one is confirmed that s/he would be living at a particular address for an extended period of time during which CIC can send mails then Mailing and residential address can be the same. If not, then the Mailing address should be something that is more Permanent and if mails are sent to that address then it will definitely be delivered to the applicant by some means. This is more for people who have transferable jobs and have a "HOME address" where a relative lives and can deliver/communicate the mails from CIC to the applicant.

Selecting a VO outside the country of your residence will definitely add to the processing times.

No, it will not. Please refer to Buffalo applicants who have selected Buffalo as their VO since they are/were residing in the jurisdiction that encompasses their geographical area and yet they had/have been waiting for ages. On the contrary who had selected VO that was not in country of residence got their PR early.

Contrary to that, I would say, if one selects VO that is his native country, then it might be easier for the VO to conduct native checks (assessment of birth cert, education or job) "Checks" in a time efficient manner. And there is another aspect that, some VOs are swamped with more than that they can handle as the jurisdiction caters to many countries, for example LVO or SVO. So, one cannot really correlate the "Processing times" with the selection of VO.

Hi Mitali,

Selecting a native country VO would be certainly advantageous , however how do we over come the practical difficulty of stamping the PP later.
Isnt it risky to send PP to them while you are in a different country ? Also wont it be illegal to stay in a different country w/o a PP. Also knowing the fact that they take anywhere like few months to stamp and return isnt it a big difficulty in the final stages?

How do people overcome this stage when they have selected native country VO and at time of PP stamping they are over seas.
Thanks
Regards

The practical difficulty of stamping PP, if living overseas is for people of India and couple of other countries only as it is illegal to send Indian PP outside India. It maybe risky to stay without PP in a different country but it is certainly not illegal for you to send PP for Visa stamping. Retain copy of your PP along with CIC request for your PP.....and STAY OUT OF TROUBLE. Well, the time taken by VO for stamping is independent of where you are living.....if you are lucky, then even by living abroad you may get your stamped PP within a week or so and if luck decides not to favor you then you might be waiting endlessly in your own country.

URGENT- Pls reply ASAP

I'm single-never married and I don't have any dependant family member (child etc).

Q1. Should I click "Remove Dependant" button on the application form (IMM0008) which collapses the section completely

Q2. Can I include mention of Mother as a dependant or it has to be spouse/ child only

Q3. Should I Submit (Blank/ what to fill) the "Add Dependent Form"

Pls let me know urgently
