Hi everyone-

Looking to send out our application this coming week and have a few questions before everything is finalized. I have contacted CIC numerous times and each time I have gotten a different answer. I have followed this forum for a long time now, seems everyone here is pretty well informed, more then the 'CIC Agents'.

I am applying Outland but living here in BC with my spouse. Where should my application go to? They ask in IMM 0008; Application to be processed where? Isn't it Ottawa? Not really clear on that answer.

So I have been told I am NOT to open my FBI clearance check. That it is to stay in the envelope the FBI mailed it in. CIC said if it is opened it is consided tampered and invalid. I have been unable to find that information anywhere. Is this correct?

I've done my medicals. The Doctor gave me form 1017 B to mail with my application. Is that inland or outland? I was never asked how I was applying.

Also, CIC has told me over and over again to NOT use binder clips, paper clips, staples, etc...to just stack everything loose, in order. I have a hard time sending things that unorganized. What is the prefered method?

I glued photos 2 to a page and wrote descriptions beside each one? Is that okay?

Thanks a lot. This is all so stressful. Any advice would be helpful.

You write the name of the visa office that will process the application. For example I am british so I wrote london. However you send the app to mississauga where stage 1 takes place and then they forward it to your nominated vo.

Not sure about the fbi.

As for meds, you have the rigt form. Just include your copy.

Do not use staples. I used paperclips for anything more than one page.

The photos should be fine

I organised it all in 3 separate envelopes.

Good luxk!!

I researched that information and saw nothing that says the FBI clearance should not be opened.

I read that somewhere too, about the FBI clearance. I just can't remember where. That didn't apply in our case.

Here's what the CIC website states: The FBI will send you a letter with the results of their record check. That letter will be your police certificate. You should send the letter and any attached documents to the Citizenship and Immigration Canada office processing your file.
Nowhere does it say that the letter has to be unopened.

Here's where I found this information:
