General Observation on CIC immigration process

I've been visiting the forums even after I got my PR. Really as a side comment.....I really feel bad for people that applied before Sept, 2011.
I think they got shafted in the two part process of half their application being processed at Buffalo and the other half in Ottawa.

Seems like Sept and Oct were the "golden" months, where applications were just processed quickly in Ottawa. Heck, I was surprised when I heard that processing time was 15 months but I got approved in 3 months exactly, and passport back a month later. Even the PR card itself, came in 1st week of March. Their website said PR card takes 36 business days to process, and I got it on 35th day.

I wonder how applications are going now with them being sent to Nova Scotia first....

actually, they started sending applications from Buffalo to Ottawa in July.. So there was a lucky bunch that applied in July and had their applications processed really quickly. That being said, I submitted my application in June 2011 and got my passport back first week of March, so not too bad. 8 months in total. But I agree, it was brutal seeing many people who applied after me that got their PR months before my application was even in process.

I think the fast process has dried up again. I'm a Dec 2011 applicant and it's been over 90days since my application was received and I've had no word back from them yet.

Don't be too worried, Aidan.. It took them 2 months after I sent in my application to receive AOR and Medical Request... It says 15 months for the processing time, but keep in mind this is how long it took people who applied in 2010 to get their pr. I applied early June 2011 and it took me about 8 months to get everything done (up to receiving my passport back).
