Guys/Experts, please Provide your Comments point wise i.e. in same format enlisted below point wise :


1> What is the deadline to apply for Fall i.e. from which Month i should start applying and up to when I can do the same

2> By When I can give IELTS at max if i am looking for Fall- Sep Intake 2013.

3> Should I go for IDP version or British Council of IELTS ?? I have heard that both are same but still, which one to prefer.

3> Do Share some IELTS Study materials : I need effective ones and Please dot suggest to Google it. At least provide the links or some good references so that I finalize some stuffs after collating them and analyzing so that I can commence my preparation ASAP

4>Kindly share some Sample LORs and tell me , if I am applying to 4 universities than I need to take the sign of my Professor 4 times at separate copy ??? and Do I need to seal it in the normal Envelope also ??

5> Kindly share some Sample SOPs

6>I would appreciate if any one suggest me some kind of Road map for this entire Admission journey of mine right from Exam preparation, SOP and LOR Documents ready, Shortlisting Univ etc . I mean what are the things which I should start doing from the beginning one by one or 2-3 tasks simultaneously.

1. You may want to check that with the university you'd be applying into. Some universities are flexible but the immigration officers aren't so flexible unfortunately. So your best bet is to apply as soon as you can and submit your application at least 11 weeks before the start date of your classes.

2. You may give IELTS whenever you want. You'll need IELTS scores to get admission into known universities. Ideally you'd want to get your IELTS scores back by the time you apply into universities.

3. I'd check that with universities. If I am not mistaken universities don't really care much about the versions of the test if you've been a smart student in the past and you meet all the other requirements. Maybe visa officers do but I doubt unless you've done really bad in your whatever type of English test you gave. Good universities have high standards of English language scores so you'd want to check with the university. I have seen a lot of international Asian students here who hardly speaks English but they are bright students and are doing well in universities. So as long as you're able to get into a good university you're fine.

3. I don't know enough about IELTS in particular to help you but I'd look it up on google as well to save money. Or maybe buy some books or CDs to learn. But I'd google regardless. Every English language test material you find over the internet which you find challenging is effective.

4. Don't get into so much details. You don't need to have sealed envelope. Just get a signed reference letter on the appropriate letter head and pass it to universities. All the reference letters has to be on a proper letter head and signed.

5. I personally don't believe in SOPs. I wouldn't send one unless I was really good at 'not' over explaining things. I have seen students over explaining and then ended up having rejection letter. I have also seen people who didn't write SOP and got the visa. A good a reader can sense the desperation and you wouldn't want that.

6. You may want to prepare yourself for IELTS as soon as you can while deciding on what universities you may want to apply in. Gather the necessary documents simultaneously. Once you've decided what universities you want to apply in, apply! Don't wait for your papers to get ready or your Engilsh test results to arrive. Just apply. They'll guide you. If you don't have your English test that's fine, they'll wait. Once you get your letter of acceptance you may then apply for study permit and prepare further documents. People in this forum are nice, they'll guide you with all the process so keep posting.

If I enroll to 5 Univ ( which I can at free of cost via IELTS British Council Application form ) then the Result is send directly to those Univ.

My Query is then by that time My rest of the document should reach to those respective Univ ?? or Shall I be flexible enough to send the rest of the docs after my IELTS Score is already reached there. If Yes, to the later option, then What should be the max duration of gap Univ can accept in accepting the Docs ( like SOP, LOR, forms etc ) after my IELTS Score is sent to them directly already by British Council

If you enroll into university or apply into university? I assume you meant apply. So if you apply into 5 universities, you may wait until they send you a letter asking for the documents. You may send the documents even before they ask you for the documents you may want to wait for the confirmation though. You probably would want to know if the university received your application yet.

Usually people wait on the IELTS scores and send the documents first. But either or is fine. All you gotta make sure is that you've applied into university successfully. Then worry about sending the Engish language exam and your academic documents. Its not really that tough. They're friendly people. Just speak to them nicely.

I am not an expert but I would apply first. But like you said British Council would apply for you then you may want to let them apply and send IELTS scores. Send the documents (photocopy) when you're sure that your application has been received. What do you think about that?

People usually have only one set of original documents such as academic certificates. So, if they want to apply into multiple universities they'll have to arrange multiple sets of original documents. I can't think of a reason why would a Canadian university make you do that. You can always submit your original documents when you arrive onto campus. Make sense?
