Congratulations! Was it a comprehensive security check?
Hi everyone, I just received Portal 1. My security screening started in Dec 2023, so it took about 9.5 months for my security screening. Good luck to everyone here!
Hello! What date are you checking for the security start date? Is it the one mentioned directly under the "Security" section or the one under "Sub Activities" under the security section?
TIA!

No, I had called IRCC and they told me the exact date it was sent to CBSA. It is also in my CBSA notes.

Hey guys, my SS started on may 10 2024. Ever since, no update until oct 4 when I received a ghost update in the tracker site. Can this mean SS is completed or not? (I know it could mean anything but I'm talking about the odds. My AOR is feb 2024 and medical has months to expire)
I immediately requested a CBSA and CSIS note but it would take around a month to get them.

Hi, I also noticed the ghost update on Oct 4th and Oct 5th on tracker and wondered (hoped) if this means anything.

Unfortunately, according to my findings, this could hardly mean anything. It happened before early this year and last year, but people who had these ghost updates did not receive actual progress updates after that shortly. So, my suggestion would be not to expect too much on that.

However, since your security started in May 2023, i guess that your case is fairly close to an end, if we put a 1.5 years timeframe on that. I saw many people whose security started in March 2023 are now getting cleared. But hey, it’s IRCC, who can tell? So, let’s hope. Mine started in November, so I got much longer to go.

Unfortunately, my SS started in may 2024 not 2023. Which means I need to wait way more

Sorry, I didn’t catch that. Actually, if you just got your security started, there are possibilities that you don’t have to go through this long running. So, wait for your notes and see what they say. Hope for the best and prepared for the worst.

There was a universal update on Oct 04. Everyone with tracker got an update. It doesn't mean anything unfortunately.

ordered CSIS notes about 35 days ago, no response either.
Hi, have you received your CSIS notes now? I know that (just like me) your security started in October 2023. What's the update with your application and how are you coping with the stress and mental fatigue this journey subjects all of us to?

Hi, we haven’t received it yet, but we ordered it again a couple of days ago. See if it comes first.

Our security started in November actually, but anyway, it is indeed stressful. We are outlanders, we account on this damn thing to make life decisions. I guess we all do. So if I expected a long time to wait in the beginning instead of believed the so-called processing time on their website, I guess I would try to stay on the old track as long as possible and wait for a good surprise to come. But I made some stupid decisions, including quitting my job, so I just tried to use travelling and learning to fill up my time void and my mental spaces.

Btw, recently we re-calibrated our expectations from one year to about one and a half to get cleared, according to some cases we learnt. So I’m probably gonna find another job, concealing my intentions to quit at any possible moment, which I really don’t enjoy to do.

Long in short, just to find something meaningful to do, keep being busy, fill up the time void. Hope this is able to soothe your stress.
Thanks for your response. I absolutely understand your frustrations, and don't blame yourself for some of the decisions you have made, I guess majority of us in the waiting line has regrets too about some life changing decisions we have made against the background of a smooth and predictable immigration journey which unfortunately isn't the case here with IRCC. Yes, we all have our own stories and challenges.

By and large, let's keep hope alive, manage our expectations and keep our fingers crossed. Hopefully, we will receive the golden e-mail sooner than we expect. I am currently in my 12th month in security screening and have just ordered GCMS, CBSA and CSIS notes.

Cheers.

Hey, thought you’ve read it, I’ve read your reply. Despite there is no csis notes coming back and no updates on the case so far , we’re doing okay actually. Just keep being busy doing something and waiting for it.

Hi Everyone,

Im an (Iranian) inland CEC applicant and my AOR was dated February 2nd 2024. I just got my GCMS notes and it seems like im the same boat as many of you! It seems like im in the CSBA Comprehensive security screening, however, i was not able to find any mention of CSIS.

Under Admissibilities --> Security I find the following points:
  • Created Date: 2024/04/15
  • Updated Date: 2024/07/16
  • Status: In Progress
  • Due Date: 2025/04/15
And under the Sub Activities I find the following:
  • Created Date: 2024/07/16
  • Updated Date: 2024/07/16
  • Status: Received by CBSA
  • Type: Security Screening
  • Security Screening Type (A34): Comprehensive
  • Screening Priority: Normal

Everything else in the application is passed, including eligibility, criminality, medical, info sharing. Also no s15/s16/s19 is found on the notes but i found s21 in the page where the Sub Activities is noted.. is there anything I can do next? is the estimation of 1-2 years processing time correct for this situation? Since CSIS is not mentioned in the GCMS, can i be happy that i only need to deal with CBSA?

You need to order CSIS notes to know if your case was sent to them. It is not detailed as CBSA notes, but it can tell you if your case is in progress or not found in their database.

1-2 years is what you may want to expect, but sometimes people got cleared early. So, be prepared and be hopeful.
