Background check depends on the visa office. For example for Singapore VO traditionally it moves to background check in progress just before PPR. For Inland applicant there is no hard and fast rules, atleast that is what I have seen so far.

It looks it is progressing at least something might be updated soon.May I ask what is "MP ' office"? Not a call center, right?
Member of Canadian Parliament. If you are an inland applicant then you can go to your local MP's office and ask for update in you application. Normally if it is not over 6 months they say to wait.

I have been waiting for 250 days (8,33 months) after my AOR (12 October 2016).
Security screening since 25 January (almost 5 months!).
EE Provincial nominee, inland, profession university professor NOC 3011, with family (wife + 2 children).
This is insane.
This is not acceptable.
This is not reasonable.

It's really hard to wait, but all I can say is that we are all in this together, and i hope it'll end very soon. Dont loose hope.

Matt, I have just finishing reading all your post and I feel deeply sorry for you , and also for every one in this "lucky group". We need stay stronger in this dark period of our life. Try to think on the bright sight, at least your security check has started, much better than people whose "security check: not started " after 7 months of my AOR , such as myself.( My note finally arrived today showing "security not started"). Seeing all my classmate getting their Ppr within or earlier than 6 month, I am happy foe them but meanwhile I have to admit that I felt so sad that I am left behind. But we have to accept it and try not let this affect your life. Wish each one of us good luck:)

You are good, that's not the secure outstanding group.

Hey friends, I have been out for a while to keep my sanity but I am still waiting, 9 months from AOR tomorrow, still stuck on 'pnp secure outstanding' group. I have been in touch through personal messages with most people, if you want to reach me for some reason just send a pm.

Long story short, I received my 3rd GCMS last week. My medical that were due to expire on Aug 15 2017 were renewed. This is the only thing that happened and these are the exact words in case someone want to know:

So, yes, like most of you already know, if you are inland you don't need to redo your medicals.
Tomorrow I will give them a call like I do every 21 of the month, will probably hear again what I hear every month. "Background check still in progress, we don't have a date of when it might finish. Meanwhile you can remain in Canada and do whatever you like, we will keep trying to find something wrong with you for more a couple months".

I got a reply today from the ministry of immigration... Long story short , my application is pending on the results of one of the security partner agencies... Nothing new , no deadline for anything.
Could you please share to which email address did you send the request to IRCC? Thanks.

However I am on security screening hitting 3 months now
Very normal, your AOR is Dec18th, people from your batch are getting PPR these weeks, you should get in 1-2 weeks from now, good luck!
