Hey everyone!

Wondering if anyone is in the same position as me. Applied from Ottawa.

Me timeline below:

Online application: 7th Sept, 2022
BG completed: 23rd Dec, 2022
Test completed: 27th Mar, 2023 (outside Canada)
Language completed: 21st June, 2023
Online Teams interview: 20th Sept, 2023 (from outside Canada)
Returned to Canada on 5th Oct and emailed boarding pass to office, also raised a webform.

Since the interview there has been no update. My initial office was Niagara but application got moved to Mississauga. Just received GCMS notes and Prohibitions/Presence is assigned to RC-8090 which I believe is bad news as it will delay my application further. Location is assigned to “E-Grant Interview PM03 Ready”.

The application is beyond its due date of Sept 7, 2023. Are there any steps I can take to escalate? Thanks!

Please call IRCC and ask them to send office a note that application is past regular processing time. Same situation as you but April 2022. LPP was completed within 48 hours of call. Can’t be a coincidence.

Is the 17 months processing time from AoR or submission date?

usually AoR. I think the whole gotta wait till you are past normal processing times is a luck thing - a good agent will take note and push your file irrespective. go with a sob story.

My due date is Nov 13 and if nothing moves. Where and how much you guys think for lawyer?
~4-5k. Depending whether u perfect mandamus or not. Sometimes IRCC actioned application after receiving notice from lawyer (ie. No need to moved to next step)

4-5k is a lot. I know someone here in the forum filing himself. I wonder if that works for him.

it is a lot. Your application is not non-routine. So, breathe in breathe out (I know it's tough AF, waited 18.5 months and I don't even have oath date yet)

Did you have to follow up to get things moving?
I asked for notes a few times and called 1 or 2 times, but I don't think that was the cause of the progress... I don't know why, but I think they put some people in a queue that only really makes progress when it's near the deadline. Maybe it's for keeping the average process time longer.

Just want to give u guys some hope here, LPP being assigned to RC8090 does not mean absolutely slow processing. My LPP was assigned to RC8090 (CPC Sydney), however LPP has been completed as of today, which marks three months wait time since BG completed. Detailed timeline in signature.
Cheer up, guys! :)
Just received my oath letter, oath has been scheduled for the upcoming Monday!!!
Yohooo! :) Almost there!

I called IRCC today even though I knew it's a wasted effort. The lady confirmed that my LPP is not even started even after 8 months of clearing citizenship test. I'm also beginning to question if I will even get it within the 17 months timeframe or will it just be in limbo with no one to care? I've currently completed 13 months since applying in Sept 2022.
