GCMS notes - "date generated"

I just want to know if someone else got their GCMS notes generated more than 3 weeks before they where sent to them.

What I mean is this: we have requested our notes on Dec. 27, 2013. In Jan. 13, 2014 - e-Cas changed to "In process", and last week I was asked to repeat my x-ray - because my med file expired on Dec. 18, 2013 - for my "medical reassessment to be completed".

We where asked to provide proof of return and of funds in December and were sooooo curious to get the file and see what the VO's notes were after getting our documents. And also to see if indeed I have passed all their assessments, if our interview was waived and if indeed they've asked for the extension of my med exams because they are ready to give me the visa and the expired meds are the only thing holding them back.

And we've got the notes today. And there's hardly anything changed compared to the ones we've got in Dec. 11. I was puzzled because I thought there will be at least some signs that they have started processing the file.

And then I saw - at the bottom of every page - "Date generated / Date d'execution: 2014-01-02". First I thought it's Feb. 1 already. But then I realized that it's not And everywhere else the dates are written in the YY-MM-DD format. So my file was generated on Jan. 2, 2014 and was sent to me in Jan. 27.

Is this OK? Did this happen to anyone else?

It happens to me as well. I ordered notes on Dec 4,2013 and they generated on around DEc 6,2013.. It looks weird though, no idea why???

I have understood that then request is processed fairly quickly but they still wait the 30 days to send them.

Guess that is to prevent people from wanting to request daily or weekly maybe?

Mine also took exactly 30 days to arrive... It seems to be administrative, rather than technical delays.

I've asked for them three times, they always arrived in 30 days on the dot.
The first time they were generated the day before I got them. The second time they were generated 5 days before they were sent to me. And now bang! it took them 25 days to send the email

when we requested our GSCM notes back on Sept/Oct, the date generated was after 23 days from when we requested the Notes. but we received them after 30 days from when we requested it, so it's like they collected our informations from the system just 7 days before they sent it to us.

OK, I got curious and checked. Mine were requested on 12 Nov 2013 and generated on 8 Dec 2013, which was a Sunday! I didn't however receive them until the 30 days on 11 Dec 2013.

Note they have to be reviewed by an ATIP officer and 2nd party information and information received from other sources removed. They don't just send out what was on the system without reviewing it.

Very wise of them. It's quite obvious what has been redacted however, and not beyond the Wit of Man to fill in most of the missing information.

I received my GCMS notes today Jan. 27, 2014 which I requested on Jan. 8, 2014. (so it only took 19 days from the date requested including the Sat. and Sun.)

On the notes, it says my criminality check and background check has not started yet. (the updated date on this part was Oct. 10, 2013)
BUT when I phoned CIC call centre today my background checks were already done...
So they probably worked on the background check Between Oct. 10 and January 8..


So I think they gathered the information Jan. 8, 2014 and sent it weeks after...

I don't want to rain on your parade, but don't trust the CIC call center. If you call again tomorrow and ask about background checks, you might find another agent tells you they haven't begun yet. One thing I learned about them is that most of them will tell you anything they THINK you want to hear just to get you off the phone. Sad, but true.

Oh I understand that, trust me... I really know what you mean... I am really calling again tomorrow...lol! Last week I phoned, the agent said, It's still in process... and now, it's done... Hopefully, it's true...

Look at the bottom of every page and you will see the exact date and time when they generated the file. It's not about the number of day between the request and the delivery, but between the generating of the file and the delivery

I knew that. But still did't think it will take the ATIP officer more than 3 weeks to review them

I didn't realize people review them.

Is there harm in continuing to order them? I ordered and received them once and the day I got them I ordered another set.

Also, is there a place that will help to indicate if you are going to be called for an interview on the notes?
