Gap in work experience

Hello,

I have a total of 4.5 yrs of work ex outside Canada. All is in the same noc code.work ex is as below:-
Dec 11 - Aug 13
Dec 14 - till date.

It's with the same company. I was on a sabbatical for about 15 months.

My doubt is :-
1. For the calculation of points for crc. My continuous work ex Dec 14 till date works out to less than 3 yrs.Considering the earlier work ex the period exceeds more than 4 yrs and makes me eligible for more points.

How should I fill the express entry profile. Will the complete work ex be considered?

Fill in 2 separate entries and explain in loe that you had a leave in between.

Hi yes.

But will the complete work ex be considered for the purpose of points.
As it is not 3 years of continuous work ex.

Geez, you only need one year of continuous work experience to be eligible under the FSW program.

After that you can add all other work experience even if there are gaps.

Hi there. In my case I have a work experience of totalling 10 years as a lecturer. Out of these 10, last 07 years have been on permanent basis, whereas the initial 03 years was contract basis, with couple of days to weeks gaps in between each contract renewal. Both, the contract based and permanent based jobs have exactly same duties and working hours. My head of department has given me the reference letter in which he mentions that I joined the department first on contract based and then my job was made permanent, but he didnt mention the small gaps in between the contract based experience and shows both contract based and permanent experience as one seamless experience. Please suggest what should I do? Should I mention the gaps? Just in case if the CIC asks for more documents in addition to reference letter, then if i havent mentioned the gaps, would this be misrepresentation? Please help.

You can mention the gaps in a LOE and explain that even without counting those periods of work experience your CRS as well as eligibility remain the same.

Thanks a lot. And is a reference letter alone a sufficient proof of work experience or must I attach pay stubs and other letters? I dont have pay stubs for the contract period but only since my job became permanent.

bro as per my experience the thing which matters is verification at the end ...if this goes smooth all of your supporting documents whatever in hand will save you otherwise you will be tired in convincing them ..they just go by their verifications..you may say its a luck and you should pray for it

Please advise I have work experience from January 2011 to June 2014 in one research institute as project assistant.
Other experience I have from September 2014 to March 2017 as Senior Research Fellow in the same NOC 2121.
Since April 2017 till now I am not working officially, although I was pursuing research in the same institute to finish my PhD (Biotechnology) work, which was completed by November 2019. We are planning to apply for express entry, so will my experience be considered valid as it has gaps in between and after March 2017? Can we get a clarification on this matter?
Are we eligible for maximum foreign work experience (more than 3 years) in the current scenario?
