Gap in study

My brother passed +2 in 2018 and from 2018 to feb 2020 he has completed his ielts . Also working with family business
Now he is applying for study visa for sept 2021. What time period will be considered as gap between studies?

how can we make it simpler for immigration.

Each application is assessed differently but as far as I know and also in my personal experience, Canadian Student visa's are not declined just due to a study gap. Your SOP should explain why do you want to restart your education with a clear reasoning for course selection and the gap would not be an issue anymore.

Gaps between education credentials are a normal part of life. However, in your SOP you should show a logical progression from your past experience.

In your case, explain how your chosen program will help you achieve career progression in your country and how it is relevant to your previous education and work experience.
