Hi
can any one help me regarding my question.I have done my LLM from london in 2009. there after i was granted 2 years post study work permit. during this period i have stayed in uk for about 14 months but due to recession i could'nt find any suitable job so i was without any work. now i am applying for student visa for canada.i have my offer for llm at university of ottawa.the student visa application form at page 3 specifically asks for employment history during past 5 years.i have been working as a lawyer during time spent in india but what should i write about the period spent in uk without work.my other question is regarding funding. my complete fees for 4 sessions is about $24000.i will pay $6200 for first session. so remaining fees will be $17800.living expenses $10000 for one year. total required (17800+10000)= $27800.is it ok if i show the entire amount of $27800 via education loan.

thanks in advance,
Sukhraj.

By no means should you leave any gaps in your application because otherwise the agents will either return it to you or will contact you to inquire specifically. That being said, for the period you were unemployed you should write "unemployed".

Regarding the living expenses, I think you should declare whatever liquid assets you possess.

1. For the duration of time you didn't work, you will fill it as "unemployed". If your profile is strong, you have good IELTS score, strong financial statement then this gap won't affect your case.
2. The minimum you should show is 80% of tuition +living + travel expenses for one academic year. As you are showing more money as educational load which is a positive thing. It implies you have more worth in your country of residence that is why you are able to get more money as an education load.

3. Question: You have done LLM from UK in 2009 and now you are again going for LLM?

Thank you Inam so much for your valuable advice. I have done my llm in corporate and commercial laws. my second llm would be in humanitarian intervention and ultimately i plan to pursue phd in humanitarian laws(if i am able to secure a scholarship.).anther reason is that i wd be eligible for provincial nominee under masters pilot project wherein no job offer is required.

Usually Visa Officer doesn't like the concept of doing the same level degree again. But if you can explain the difference and its advantages then surely, it won't be a problem.

That MS PNP program is has reached it quota in 6 months instead of 1 year which means it is under loads of applications. But PNP is 1.5 to 2 years down the road. Best of luck :)

Hi i wanted to clarify my doubts regarding funding. i ll pay my first installment of $6200. my remaining costs would be ($17000 fees for 1 yr +$10000 living = $27000)for this I ll be showing education loan of Rs. 15,60,000 and fixed deposits of around Rs. 2,00,000. I may not be able to show bank statements because there is no regular income and the required balance has not been available for the required duration in accounts. i ll be attaching j forms for agricultural and rent deeds for rental income though. my question is would they suffice without bank statements.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, when you are showing educational loan, you don't require bank statement.
