Hello Team,
I have continuous 4.8 years experience in NOC 2173 as per the requirement but i have a gap of about 6 years and i am currently unemployed. Details are provided below:
1. Continuous experience of 4.8 years (2007-2012)
2. Post Graduation (2013-2016)

Kindly confirm if i can apply as a primary applicant and will get score for my experience.

Thanks for the prompt response.
Please advice if i need to justify the gap or provide any explanation letter.
No. You can claim points for three years of work experience in last 10 years. You need reference letter for those years for which you’re claiming points. No need to explain the gap

Any part of your experience which is more than ten years old would not be considered towards your CRS or FSW score. So the experience u gained from 2007 to aug 2008 won’t be included in points calculation

Even then i think my experience is more than 3 years and will get full score for my experience. Isn't it?

Thank you both of you. Very much clarified.

Further, please advice if reference letters would be helpful in searching job or do the companies ask for reference letters from previous companies before hiring?
My husband will accompany me and just want to know whether we need reference letters from his companies as well. I am sure they will not be helpful in increasing my score however i am not sure whether they are required job searching or do canadian employers ask for reference letters as well?

Well I’m not in Canada yet and still awaiting my PR but based on my research foreign work experience reference letters are not sought and they won’t really help much. It would have been beneficial if work experience was in Canada.

Thank you. Got that

The recruitment scene is pretty traditional here. i.e. they will only entertain you if you are in country as they want to meet you in person and discuss your profile and potential opportunities. They will do reference checks from there own side. They generally go by the refernce contacts you will provide of your previous organization(s).

They are picky(so are the companies) w.r.t what landing documents you have or what kind of visa you have, etc. If you are on PR here then chances of finding a job are high
