G5 applicant in Ethiopia

Hi guys I applied on July 2020, and got sponsorship approval on September and now my file has been transferred to IRCC overseas office Nairobi, Kenya. I think they have started calling applicants for interviews after Covid 19 here in Ethiopia, but I am not sure whether they have started flights though. Anyone applying from Ethiopia feel free to share and chat through here.

Hi Applied last year November 2019... got application approval on march 24th 2020 and file transferred to Nairobi. I haven’t yet received any communication from Nairobi Team. But i heard they called someone for interview on 24th October this year. This shows that they are working but at slow process

I checked my process status again ..it says started processing on November 3 after the file was transferred to Kenya, Nairobi on September. Is it the same on your end..???

I only see these steps which was there before approval. We already sent the required docs and after January, we waited until March where i received the approval email that said my file was transferred to Nairobi.

I hope that we all get good news

I see these steps on mine plus it says in process. Ya hopefully all goes well for everyone. Did you hear anything about the interviews ..what file number are they calling..

Do the embassy inform you about the interview via Email writing or they directly call you? Kindly someone to help me confirm this ..thank you

I think most of the time they inform you through email...so it's better to check your email on a daily basis..go through the spam filter on your email as well.

It's unclear if interviews have restarted or restarted at the normal levels. Parts of Africa are some of the only places where covid precautions are not as critical although I assume they will be required. At the moment even with COPR you wouldn't be able to travel unless you meet the travel restrictions.

Most people here in Ethiopia are being called to do their medical directly ... maybe the interview part isnt mandatory here after all
