Regarding the funds do we need to show the same on a specific date or CIC needs to see the statement for over a period of time like 3 months or so.Please clarify.If i transfer the funds to my account on a date and take statement of the same and then withdraw the funds will it be ok.

CIC may ask for POF at anytime-

Initially with application- Attach 3 month (Preferably) or more bank statement
At In Process stage - to further confirm - They may ask for 3/6/12 month bank statement
At landing

If there is a large deposit you will have to provide papers to support. It is not a good idea to take a statement and then withdraw money just for the sake of BANK statement.

ayazf, as Mitali mentioned CHC may ask for POF at different stages and you need to keep the money in your account through the application process or most of it. You also need to carry these funds to Canda while landing.

I think it is OK,but CIC takes attention to this point because many applicants did such a trick .So keep the money under hand for any emergency 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

As the others have mentioned CIC can ask to see proof of funds at any stage.

Also, what is the source of the large deposit? Any large deposits will have to be explained so you will need to show the source of the funds and explain where the money came from.

The money must belong to you and cannot be borrowed.

And do the funds belong to you, or to your father?

If they are yours then also show the statements of the joint account, and also a letter from your father stating that the portion of the draw funds are yours.
If it is a gift from your father you need an affidavit saying that the funds are a gift and do not have to be repaid.

But either way you will need to explain the source of the large deposit.

Joint account with your spouse would be ok , I don't know about your dad.

Joint account with father will not work. These funds need to be yours and if your father gifts them to you, it is acceptable provided you explain and prove that to VO
