Hi All, I have an admit from Queen's MBA program with a scholarship of CAD$10,000/- and am in the process of applying for a student visa. as for the funds that need to be shown do we need to show the entire 1 year fee in cash? what i mean is, I have cash available to the tune of CAD $18,000/- and movable and immovable assets together to the tune of CAD$ 1,30,000/- (value), I have already paid CAD $5000/- fee to the college. will this be enough or do i need to show the entire first year fee of $70,000 CAD in cash?

kindly help me with the query.

thanks for the link, but sincerely speaking do you think i would post my question here without going through such links? My query was and is - i can finance my MBA program, all i wanted to know was how much cash do i need to show the visa issuing authority while am applying for it. Because i have to pay my fee in 4 parts, i dont have to show the entire fee of $75000 CAD in cash is what i was under the impression.

but thanks anyway.

You have to show one year's worth of tuition fees plus $10,000 for living expenses (or $13,000, if you're going to Quebec). I was also having trouble with interpretation of the page that mead linked at first... But showing funds for one full year should be enough. So if your first year fee is $70,000 (is it really? That's expensive...), and you have a scholarship worth $10,000 and have already paid $5,000, you'd have to show $65,000. Don't take my word on it though, I'm by no means an expert...

You must show a bank statement that has first year tuition + $10K living expenses + travel expenses - any scholarship - any fees already paid to the university.

So if you have a scholarship of $10K and have already paid $5K towards your fees and your first year tuition is $70K, then you should be able to show a bank statement with a cash balance of around $70K.

so ur going for MBA right and bad at maths? the link clearly states mim amount needed is
"Tuition plus $10,000 for a 12-month period (or $833 per month)" so basic math
75000-10000-5000= 60000 so u will need 60000+10000 in ur bank simple as that......anything less than that is taking chances......
