Hello everyone,

I want to ask what can be shown as proof of Settlement Funds and Assets in the form 0008_3e. As per the CIC website, for two people funds required will be CAN$13,900. Do all of these have to be liquid cash available or any fixed deposits or mutual funds (with lock in period) can be shown. Cause strictly speaking they are not liquid as they have a lock in period.

How you arrive CAD 13900 its 550 x 2 = 1100CAD
it can be shown as liquid cash and FD (lockin period mutual fund cant allowed)

Hello Vats,

This is the requirement in the form imm0008_3e under the heading settlement funds.

So you mean only that portion of cash which you can use immediately (without any lockins) can only be used??

Vats, i think dagocanada is asking abt settlement funds not abt application fee.
For a family of 2 one need to show $ 13837.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp
It can be in the form of Fixed Deposit, Public Providend Fund, Bank Statement, Employee Providend Fund.

Thanks amit..are shares allowed to be shown?? I have shares..and adding the valuations as on today, i can meet the requirements..

is it allowed?? I have have Provident Fund (PF) from my salary account. Is that the Provident Fund you are talking about??

And is it defined anywhere clearly in the CIC website as to what is allowed and wht is not??

PF is allowed but about Shares I still doubt, take few more opinion

Shares not valid POF

Excetly I think shares is to be considered as asset but not settlement fund
